Hydraulic Lifter Camshafts
Early Gen II Olds V8 blocks came with a 45° Cam Bank Angle, instead of the later (and more common) 39° bank angle, and require a camshaft ground for that angle. If you try to run a normal 39° cam in a 45° block, one side of the engine would have advanced cam timing and the other side would have retarded cam timing.
45° CBA: All 1964-1965 & some 1966-1967 blocks 39° CBA: Some 1966-1967 & all 1968+ blocks
